The Town of Fortune has set up surveillance equipment at a park dedicated in memory of two local victims of the crash of Cougar flight 491.
The town says the surveillance equipment was installed after damage was caused to playground equipment at the Wade Drake and Burch Nash Family Memorial Park.
Drake and Nash were among 17 people who lost their lives when a Cougar helicopter, heading to the offshore, crashed into the ocean off St. John’s on the morning of March 12th, 2009.
The memorial park was officially dedicated in August of 2012 in a ceremony attended by their family members.
