Former Tory premier Paul Davis is testing the waters as he considers a run at federal politics.
On Friday, Davis posted a message on Facebook saying he’s seriously considering seeking the nomination for the Conservative Party of Canada in the riding of Avalon. The seat is currently held by Liberal Ken McDonald.
Davis served as premier from September 2014 until December 2015, and held several ministerial portfolios while serving as the MHA for Topsail and later Topsail-Paradise from 2010 to 2018.
Davis is also known for his former policing career when he was the media relations officer for the RNC. He is also a former deputy mayor of Conception Bay South.
On Sunday, he told VOCM he continues to consider the nomination and expects to make a final decision in the next week or so.
