A number of impaired drivers were taken off the road this Thanksgiving weekend and given future court dates, but one man was taken into custody after he crashed his vehicle in spectacular fashion in the early morning hours of Sunday.
Shortly before 5 a.m., a 22-year-old man crashed his vehicle into a parked car on The Boulevard in the capital city before crossing the roadway and colliding with a rock retaining wall.
There were no injuries, although damage to the vehicles was extensive. He was charged with drunk driving and was released to appear in court at a later date.
Meanwhile, the RNC were busy last evening and through the overnight stopping vehicles. Four of them were impounded and a number of suspended drivers were issued tickets for infractions under the Highway Traffic Act.
