The father of a young man who tragically died during January’s historic snowstorm is recognizing the searcher who helped bring his son home.
26-year-old Joshua Wall went missing on January 17 during the blizzard. His body was found near Roaches Line one week later.
Wayne Wall, Joshua’s father, says Chad Costello of the Avondale Fire Department joined the search party on his own free time. He trekked through deep snow down a marsh to find Wall’s remains.
“He brought my son home. That means a lot because we were scared that we weren’t going to find him,” says Wall.
Wall says Costello helped his family move forward. “He gave us the comfort that we needed and the closure that we needed,” and adds that his family will be forever grateful to Costello.
