In a year that many awards and distinctions have been cancelled or postponed, Safety NL is shining a spotlight on those who have been instrumental in keeping COVID-19 at bay in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Safety NL bestows the Harry Megann Helping Hand Award upon a person or group that displays an unmatched dedication to the continued well being of residents in the province.
This year, the recognition is being split between three unique entities that have met on the common battleground. The Provincial Medical Association, the College of Registered Nurses and the NL Public Health Association are the recipients of the annual award.

The threat of the global pandemic united residents in the province towards the goal of flattening the COVID-19 curve—but without the successful collaboration of doctors nurses and public health officials, it may have been a different story.
President and CEO of Saftey NL Len Leriche says board members appreciate the efforts of those mounting a coordinated approach to keeping the coronavirus at bay.
Without the collaborated efforts of many of these professionals, we may not have seen such low numbers in the province and now the success of this push to keep the virus at bay means people are getting more comfortable with the idea of starting up regular activities again.
