Government is helping the Qalipu First Nation launch its own brand of seal oil capsules into the local market.
The province is giving the Qalipu First Nation $25,000 to help launch WASPU, a new Indigenous brand seal oil capsule.
John Davis, manager of the Qalipu Development Corporation, says they believe the First Nation branded health product will find a consumer niche not only here in the province, but in national and export markets as well.
The capsules will be sold in Newfoundland through Coleman’s grocery chain.
