A former provincial fisheries minister believes his past experience will serve him well in his new role as managing director of Memorial’s Canadian Centre for Fisheries Innovation.
Keith Hutchings served in the former PC cabinet under Kathy Dunderdale in the fisheries portfolio.
He describes his new role as a conduit between technology and the various aspects of the industry including processing, harvesting, and aquaculture.
Hutchings says linking industry players with the science and engineering expertise available through the Marine Insititute and the School of Fishery to build profitability, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
