Opposition Leader Ches Crosbie took the premier to task yesterday for failing to address questions from the media on two pressing issues facing the government.
Premier Andrew Furey was in the House of Assembly for Question Period but declined to answer questions from the media regarding the Husky-Cenovus merger or the status of embattled MHA Perry Trimper.
Crosbie says it’s unacceptable. He says it’s a “disgrace” that the premier wouldn’t make himself available on two issues that are foundational to government policy.
As for the Husky merger and the province’s struggling offshore industry, Crosbie says he’d be in the nation’s capital by now.
He says if he were the premier, he would’ve travelled to Ottawa and wouldn’t have left until he had a deal, adding that failure would not be an option.
