The Supreme Court is continuing the reopening of in-person services in St. John’s.
Effective immediately, the General Division in St. John’s will begin hearing both short and long-cause criminal and civil applications in person – the only exception being short-cause civil applications that are expected to take less than five minutes. Those will be heard via teleconference.
As well, the updated reopening guidelines now include information for litigants, counsel and witnesses should they have a confirmed or suspected case of COVID, come into contact with someone who has, if they must self-isolate for other reasons, or if they experience symptoms while at the courthouse.
