Pharmacies are reporting a brisk business in providing flu shots to the public.
The provincial government wants as many people as possible to get their flu shots this year and are making free flu shots available through pharmacies, doctor’s offices, schools and long-term care facilities.
The Pharmacy Association of Newfoundland and Labrador says many of their members are reporting they have already surpassed the total number of vaccinations they provided last year.
PANL says government ordered plenty of vaccines this year, and while there was a small hiccup during the first week, it was related to distribution and not supply and was quickly resolved.
PANL says it’s been very busy, and even if pharmacies are not advertising appointments, it’s best to call ahead to be sure.
