VOCM News has won an award for journalistic excellence, and has been nominated for a number of other journalism awards.
VOCM News has received the RTDNA’s Breaking News Award for Richard Duggan’s live reporting on the resignation of former premier Andrew Furey.
VOCM News has also been nominated by the RTDNA for its coverage of the Conception Bay North wildfires last August, our coverage of the 2025 provincial election, and our VOCM at Noon news package for April 4th, 2025.
VOCM’s Sara Strickland and Linda Swain have also been nominated for an Atlantic Journalism Award for coverage of the wildfires on the Conception Bay North Shore last summer.
VOCM News has been named in the Enterprise Reporting – Audio category for continuing coverage of the fires, delivering needed information, and reporting on the impact of the fires on residents and communities.
The Atlantic Journalism Awards will be handed out on Saturday, June 20th at the Halifax Public Library.
The RTDNAs will be awarded in September.
