Flags have been lowered to half-staff at Confederation Hill on the passing of former Supreme Court Justice, Seamus O’Regan Sr.
Premier Andrew Furey is among those offering condolences.
Furey says he’s known O’Regan and his family for many years, calling him a “kind man” who had “great love for his family and the province as a whole.”
He called O’Regan a pillar of the province’s legal community and a mentor for many of the province’s brightest legal minds.
Furey says O’Regan will be remembered for his quick wit, wry humour and for his kindness and practicality.
A celebration of his life is planned once COVID restrictions have been lifted. Donations in his memory can be made to the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
