The NDP is calling for the resumption of regular meetings of the Joint COVID Task Force, formed when the pandemic began in the spring.
Representatives of each of the parties met regularly on the pandemic situation, but those meetings petered out over the summer.
Meanwhile, Premier Andrew Furey says resuming the meetings is something he will “absolutely” consider.
According to Furey, the pandemic is a dynamic situation that requires a dynamic response.
He says COVID is not a political issue, and that he is willing to work with whoever he needs to in order to keep the public safe.
