The Port of Argentia is applauding this week’s funding announcement that will maintain the unfinished West White Rose Project in warm suspension through 2021.
CEO Scott Penney says the infusion of $41.5-million of government funding comes at what he calls a critical time.
He says they’re pleased that some level of activity will take place at the construction site in Argentia in the coming year, putting some tradespeople back to work and generating spin-offs to local businesses.
While a good step, Penney says he looks forward to a future announcement on the full reactivation of the West White Rose Project.
