Environment Canada is warning of some heavy rain, snow and wind on the way for the Avalon and Burin Peninsulas, as well as Eastern and Central Newfoundland regions Tuesday evening and into Wednesday.
The Avalon and Burin Peninsulas will see possible rainfall amounts of 15 to 30 mm.
Winds are predicted to blow northeasterly around 60 km/h, but some areas could see gusts approach 100 km/h on Wednesday as winds shift to northwesterly.
The precipitation will be mainly rain, but if the deep low-pressure system track shifts further southeast, Environment Canada says significant snowfall could be possible.
Meanwhile, special weather statements have been issued for eastern and central regions for significant snowfall.
About 10 to 20 cm of snow is expected with the possibility of more, along with strong winds approaching 100 km/h.
Conditions are expected to improve by Wednesday afternoon or evening.
There is also a snowfall warning for Cartwright, Norman Bay, Lodge Bay, and Black Tickle in Labrador for today. 10 to 25 cm of snow which will mix with rain along parts of the coast
