Public health officials are reporting one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Eastern Health region of the province.

The man, in his 50s, had just returned to the province from work in the Northwest Territories. The man is self-isolating and contact tracing is underway.

One person has recovered from the virus, leaving 28 active cases in the province.

Meanwhile, an investigation into the source of two recent cases in Harbour Breton continues. The two cases involve a health care worker and someone who works in administration at the local health centre.

Area residents are being asked to stay home as much as possible and avoid holding or attending social gatherings.
