Central Newfoundland, as predicted by Environment Canada, is getting dumped on today with 19cm as of 9:00 this morning and counting.
Gander had about 10 cm as of midnight but meteorologist Rodney Barney says they now have 19 on the ground.
Many schools are closed in central Newfoundland and there have been a couple of crashes on the highway between Grand Falls-Windsor and Bishops Falls. A power outage in Gander resulted in the closure of some facilities including the Legal Aid office.
In the east, about 30 mm of rain fell last night and through this morning.
There is an unplanned power outage in Gander. NL Power is estimating power to be restored in the area at 11:30 a.m.
