One man has taken it upon himself to make sure the community of Hopedale can stay active and safe during COVID-19.
RCMP Constable Dylan Bergmark built an outdoor ice rink as a way to re-connect with youth in the community after in-school activities were restricted at Amos Comenius Memorial School due to COVID-19.
It has been many years since Hopedale has had an ice rink as the weather conditions make it difficult to create and maintain the ice.
Cst. Bergmark, his colleagues and other communities are all pitching in to maintain the ice and are even working on acquiring some better equipment (such as nets) for the rink.
A student at the school says teens, families and all ages are enjoying the opportunity to get out on the ice.
