The provincial government has agreed to an investigation into the reported use of restraints in pre-kindergarten and child care settings in the province.
The question was raised by Opposition Leader John Hogan in light of a recent CBC story indicating that tethers were used to restrain children in a pre-kindergarten program on the province’s west coast.
Minister Paul Dinn says tethering children is not acceptable, and Premier Tony Wakeham says government will look into the matter.
“We will certainly do an investigation into why this is happening.”
