Poor weather has suspended the search for another missing woman on the northeast Avalon Peninsula.
Brenda Squires, 56, was last seen on New Year’s Eve in Pouch Cove. It’s believed her vehicle has since been found parked in the area of Cape St. Francis.
A Rovers search and rescue team was on the ground in the Pouch Cove area on Saturday but their work was suspended due to darkness and poor visibility.
Squires is described as five feet tall and weighing about 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing a long grey winter coat with fur around the hood, black legging-style pants and black boots. She may also be wearing dark-tinted eyeglasses with stones on the frames.
Police say they are concerned for her safety and are seeking tips from the public as to her whereabouts.
The search for another woman reported missing on New Year’s Day ended with the discovery of her body and vehicle at the bottom of a cliff in Outer Cove.
