The province is already prepared for the mass rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine once the supply is available.
That from Health Minister Dr. John Haggie who says that system was put through a test run with this year’s influenza vaccine.
Haggie says flu shot clinics changed this year to allow for people to book their own appointments online or over the phone.
He says the province has done well with the delivery of the flu shot this year, with over 53 per cent of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians vaccinated before 2021.
Haggie says the province can rest assured that the system is ready.
The province can put the program online once there is sufficient supply to vaccinate the general public.
