Residents of a home in St. John’s made it out safely after thick smoke appeared in the home Tuesday evening.
Shortly after 6 p.m. the St. John’s Regional Fire Department and the RNC rushed to Empire Avenue.
Black smoke was billowing out of the basement window. Firefighters quickly doused a couch in the basement apartment.
The couch was removed and the home was searched, but no one was in danger.
Captain Sean Corbett says there were no injuries in the fire.
