A St. John’s man accused of holding up the Traders Exchange outlet on Freshwater Road Monday night will remain behind bars for now.
Lucas Dunne, 25, appeared briefly in provincial court yesterday afternoon and consented to remand at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary until January 12 when he’s expected to enter a plea.
Dunne is accused of using a gun to rob Traders, which is in the business of buying, selling and lending new and used goods.
Witnesses said they saw a man with a backpack running from the scene Monday around 9 p.m. as police tracked him.
He’s charged with armed robbery, several firearms offences and breach of probation.
