Labrador-Grenfell Health and the provincial government are prioritizing immunization for adults in remote Indigenous communities, priority health care workers, residents of long-term and personal care homes and the elderly.
An initial shipment of the Moderna vaccine is being distributed to isolated Indigenous communities, with Labrador-Grenfell Health working with Indigenous Governments in the rollout.
Vaccines will be available on January 11 for Black Tickle and Norman’s Bay; on January 11-15 for Nain, Hopedale, Postville, Makkovik and Rigolet; and on January 18-22 for Natuashish.
The first shipment of the Pfizer vaccine is anticipated to arrive during the week of January 11.
