A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash on Route 380 near South Brook, Wednesday morning.
Springdale RCMP responded to the area shortly after 10 a.m. According to police, an SUV rolled over a large embankment and ended up on its roof.
A woman was found outside the SUV with serious injuries. She was rushed to the Green Bay Community Hospital where she later passed away.
Police determined that a passenger of the SUV fled the area on foot after providing some assistance to the woman. Police Service Dog Kane and his handler were called in to help, and located the man in a wooded area nearly two kilometres away from the crash. He had sustained injuries and was in need of urgent medical treatment.
The man, who was in breach of court-ordered conditions, was also taken to hospital. He remains there with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Police say seatbelts were not worn during the crash.
The investigation continues.
