Newfoundland and Labrador reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 on Sunday.
The case involves a man between the ages of 20 and 39 years old in the Eastern Health region and is travel-related. The resident of the province recently returned home from work in Alberta.
The person is reportedly self-isolating and contact tracing is underway, and anyone considered a close contact has been advised to quarantine.
As a result of the new case, passengers on Air Canada Flight 7480 from Montreal to St. John’s on Wednesday, Jan. 13 are asked to call 811 to arrange for testing.
Newfoundland and Labrador now has six active cases with one person still in hospital with the virus.
