Newfoundland Power is reporting significant outages in the Stephenville – Port aux Basques areas.
Over 8,000 people have lost power due to the severe weather or loss of supply.
No word on a restoration time.
Affected areas are St Andrews, Point Au Mal – Fox Island River, Port Aux Port West – Aquathuna – Boswarlos, Port Aux Port West – Front Road, Port Aux Port East, Mainland-Three Rock Cove, Lourdes-Black Duck Brook, Piccadilly-West Bay, Abrahams Cove-Lower Cove, Degrau-Cape St.George, Sheaves Cove-Marches Point, Rose Blanche-Harbour Le Cou, Burnt Islands, Port Aux Basques (Main St), Port Aux Basques (Channel), Port Aux Basques (Caribou Rd), Isle aux Morts, Port aux Basques (Grand Bay East), Port Aux Basques (Caribou Rd), Fox Roost-Margaree, Port aux Basques (Grand Bay West), Port Aux Basques (Channel), Port Aux Basques (Caribou Rd), Port Aux Basques (Regional St), Port aux Basques (Grand Bay East), Doyles, Codroy – Millville, St Andrews, Searston, Mcdougalls, South Branch, O’Regan’s, TCH/Cape Ray, Port aux Basques (Grand Bay West), and Port aux Basques (Grand Bay East).
