There is one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the province today, and one new presumptive case.
The confirmed case is related to the cluster in the Eastern Health Region, and was the suspected case at a local daycare. The new case is a female under the age of 19, and lives in the same household as a previous case.
It has been determined that the daycare—associated with that cluster—is not the source of the infection. The investigation into the source of infection related to the cluster is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the presumptive case is a man in his 40s in the Eastern Health Region. Additional testing will be completed to confirm whether it is a positive case. A positive result initially came from Avalon Laboratories, and now has to be confirmed at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory.
There has been one new recovery since yesterday and there is no one in hospital due to the virus. To date, 390 people have recovered.
Over 81,300 people have been tested for the coronavirus.
