A 19-year-old is facing a long list of charges including assaulting a police officer with a weapon following an altercation at a hotel last night.
Police responded to a hotel in the west end of St. John’s, where it was reported that a man was in the bar drinking alcohol while on conditions not to be in a licensed establishment.
Officers found the man shortly after in a room in the hotel where he was eventually arrested.
The 19-year-old has been charged with resisting arrest, disarming a police officer, assaulting a police officer with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon and a breach of court orders.
He was held to appear before a judge. The officer was not injured.
