The province’s NDP party has rolled out a set of commitments aimed at supporting women in the province.
The first is to establish permanent funding for Regional Status of Women Centres across the province.

The second is to legislate five days of paid leave for people who are experiencing intimate partner violence.
NDP Leader Alison Coffin says such actions are important for the health and safety of women. She says such actions can help women feel safer, help them get out of tough situations and ultimately save lives.
