As many Canadians anxiously await their turn for the COVID-19 vaccine, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau assures that the country is still on track to have everyone vaccinated by September.
In a pandemic update today, Trudeau addressed growing concerns over delayed shipments of Pfizer and Moderna’s vaccines. However, he says the initial estimate of 6-million doses arriving by the end of March is still in the books.
Trudeau says he has been in regular contact with the CEOs of Pfizer and Moderna, and they assure that they will meet their contractual obligations.
The Prime Minister also stated that Canada is on track for 20-million doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine by the end of June, and anticipates that Health Canada will give its approval next week.
With more companies working to receive Health Canada’s approval, Trudeau reiterates that the country will have enough doses to have everyone vaccinated by September.
