There are no plans at this time to move the polling station from Mount Pearl Senior High. The school is to be used as a polling booth for Saturday’s election, but there have been two positive cases of COVID-19.
The Chief Electoral Officer says it is possible to move the location if necessary but the school is closed and will likely remain so for some time. Bruce Chaulk says that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
He says not having anyone in the school this week is a favourable situation in terms of the school being used as a polling station.
