Four people have been arrested and are facing drug-related charges following two separate incidents in Grand Falls-Windsor.
Around 11 p.m. on January 30, RCMP noticed a car parked at a local business after hours. As the result of an investigation, police seized more than two kilograms of cannabis, including what’s described as a “significant” amount of edibles, mushrooms, LSD, cocaine, other drug paraphernalia, and a sum of cash.
The vehicle was seized and the occupants—an 18-year-old Bishops Falls man and a minor—were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession for the purpose of selling cannabis and/or cannabis products. They were released to appear in court at a later date.
Then on Saturday night around 6:30, a similar incident occurred. Once again a vehicle was spotted parked at a business after hours.
When the officer approached the vehicle, a substance—which was later determined to be cocaine—was thrown out the window. Approximately 10 grams of suspected cocaine, a number of prescription pills and cash were seized.
As a result, two men from Grand Falls-Windsor—a 19-year-old and a 23-year-old—were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
They were released to appear in court at a later date.
