A New Brunswick-based home care provider has acquired Newfoundland’s TLC Nursing Home Care Services.
Financial terms of the transaction, which closed April 1st, have not been disclosed.
The founder of Kindred Home Care Incorporated, Paul English, is a Newfoundlander who grew up in St. John’s before building his business in New Brunswick 40 years ago.
His son and CEO, Billy English, says Kindred’s expansion is more than just a business transaction for him and his family – it feels like “coming home.”
TLC was founded back in 1973.
TLC President Chris Carew says the company has been recognized by Accreditation Canada as a leader in non-medical personal care and nursing services and says while he’s been approached by many interested buyers over the years, he felt Kindred was the “right company” to carry that legacy forward.
Kindred plans to continue growing the business in Newfoundland and Labrador in partnership with TLC’s existing team.
TLC employs some 750 people.
