The head of the Better Business Bureau for the Atlantic region has been charged with child porn and sex offences.
47-year-old Peter Alan Moorhouse of Enfield, Nova Scotia, is accused of making child pornography and making an agreement to commit a sexual offence against a child.
Moorhouse also recently served as chair of the council for the Bedford United Church and was involved in community youth organizations in Nova Scotia.
Police believe Moorhouse was part of several community groups which may have given him access to kids.
They say they’re reaching out to the public in the event there may be more victims.
Moorhouse was charged Monday after the RCMP’s Child Exploitation Unit searched a business in Halifax and the man’s home in Enfield. They’ve also charged another man from the same town—Carlos Ayapal Gonzalez Moraga—as part of the same investigation.
Both men were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in court on March 22.
