A custodial worker at the advance poll on Thorburn Road has tested positive for COVID-19.
Elections NL confirmed the news this afternoon. All voters who turned out at the polling station in the Rec Centre on Thorburn Road in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s on Saturday, February 6 to contact 811 for guidance on isolation and testing. The worker had “very limited” interaction with the public.
The news comes following word that the Returning Office in Mount Pearl-Southlands has been closed after a trainee there tested positive.
That person attended a training session at St. Peter’s Church on Thursday, February 4.
Elections NL says the individual did not work in the Advance Poll.
Anyone who attended the same training session is being asked to contact 811 to arrange for COVID testing.
