Sporting and recreational organizations in the metro region have cancelled activities for the time being based on public health special measures.
Hockey NL has suspended all hockey activity from Clarenville east for the time being, while other sports organizations are taking similar measures.
The City of St. John’s has cancelled more city services based on new public health restrictions for the metro region.
Swimming pools are closed until further notice, indoor walking programs, group rentals and all adult, senior, youth and children’s recreation programs are cancelled effective immediately.
Pre-school programs are also cancelled, but after-school programs will go ahead.
The Pippy Park Outdoor Winter Activity Centre and The Loop will remain open.
The Access Centre at City Hall will remain open, however, the city is asking residents to consider using their online, application or telephone options if possible. But, staff will still be available on the first floor of City Hall for those who require in-person service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the week.
