The Nunatsiavut Government is discouraging all non-essential travel to and from the Labrador Inuit Settlement Area in the wake of the St. John’s-metro cluster of COVID cases.
As well, a two-week travel restriction is being placed on Nunatsiavut Government employees effective immediately.
Beneficiaries of the Labrador-Inuit Lands Claim Agreement who are currently outside Nunatsiavut for medical reasons will be allowed to re-enter the area, but they are being asked to strictly adhere to the special measures orders in place.
President Johannes Lampe says that while there is hope on the horizon, now is not the time to be complacent.
