Health Minister John Haggie says the spread of COVID-19 within St. Clare’s hospital is contained.
Officials are saying very little about how many cases of the virus were contracted while in hospital.
Haggie cautioned against calling it an outbreak and says the spread is contained. He says it is still unclear exactly how the patients picked up the virus, and it is currently under investigation.
An Eastern Health employee tested positive for the virus earlier this month, prompting visitor restrictions at the hospital and putting patients on Unit 6 East into isolation while testing was carried out.
