The province is gearing up to welcome people from across the country as of July first, as per the provincial reopening plan.
Premier Andrew Furey visited Quidi Vidi Brewery and the Quidi Vidi Plantation earlier today to help kick off the season alongside tourism operators.
Furey realizes some people may be fearful of opening up coming out of the pandemic, but he points to the science behind the decision.

According to Furey, all signs—including vaccination rates and the burden of COVID—point to it being safe to reopen. If the circumstances change, he says they will too.
Justin Fong, sales and marketing director at Quidi Vidi Brewery, says they are “so happy” that everything is opening back up.
He says they’ve been busy over the last few days and the phone hasn’t stopped ringing. Fong remarks that this is the happiest he’s been in about 16 months.
