It will be another four months before suspended RNC constable Douglas Snelgrove is sentenced for sexual assault.
The matter was called in Supreme Court this morning to set a date for Snelgrove’s sentencing hearing.
That will give both sides the chance to provide submissions, including victim impact statements, toward an appropriate sentence.
But the earliest that can happen is not until September 29, given the schedules of the court and Justice Vikas Khaladkar.
Crown prosecutor Lloyd Strickland expressed frustration with the lengthy delay, but begrudgingly accepted the date.
It means Snelgrove will remain free for the summer on numerous conditions, including surrendering his passport.
He also remains suspended without pay, with the RNC saying they’ll review his status as an officer after he is sentenced.
