A Quidi Vidi business owner is pleased with plans now being considered by St. John’s city council to make the historic inner gut a pedestrian-only zone during the busy summer tourism months.
Todd Perrin has been operating Mallard Cottage restaurant in the village for a number of years.
He says at first glance, and after conversations with some members of council, the plan makes a lot of sense.
Perrin jokes that Quidi Vidi has been a pedestrian mall long before Water Street was ever a pedestrian mall. He says what council is considering is really an acknowledgement of what Quidi Vidi is rather than what it is not.
