A sentencing hearing will be held today for a Labrador man convicted of second-degree murder.
34-year-old Etienne Jacobish was originally charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of another man in Natuashish on January 3 but last month he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder instead.
The hearing is set for Supreme Court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
An officer found the injured victim lying in the road on a Sunday afternoon.
He was rushed to the local clinic where he died several hours later.
