The “Help Give a Lift” Radiothon in support of Central Northeast Health Foundation was held yesterday live on 650 VOCM from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It raised over $120,000 dollars for long-term care residents in Central Newfoundland with the goal of purchasing a new wheelchair-accessible bus.
The event was sponsored by Canadian Tire and Shoppers Drug Mart in Gander. The Department of Health and Community Services committed $50,000 dollars to the campaign.
Donations are still being accepted online.
