Seniors in the west end of St. John’s are seeing significant damage caused to their homes by people in the area.
Rocks are being thrown at condominiums In the residential area across from Captain Whelan Drive. The rocks, some the size of a baseball, have damaged siding, windows, and roofs.
Community activist Walter Harding says many of the seniors who live there are now afraid to go outside. He says the majority of these individuals are women who have lost their spouses and are scared to death.
Harding, on Open Line with Paddy Daly, asked parents in the area to talk to their children to ensure they are not responsible. He’s hoping that if the message comes from inside the home, then this will stop.
