Solutions are being found to address the cause of an algal bloom at Forest Pond near Salmon Cove.
The algae have proliferated, turning the water in the pond a milky green, and killing fish in the pond and river downstream.
The Town of Salmon Cove is asking residents not to enter the water downstream, including at Salmon Cove Sands for the time being.

He says provincial government officials have done testing from the sewage treatment plant in Victoria and are awaiting the results.
Penney, who is a concerned resident of Salmon Cove, says while the lab results are expected by the end of the week, a conversation has already been started on bringing in an engineering firm to determine what can be done to rectify the problem in regards to different systems and options.
