The weather in Newfoundland couldn’t be more different from the record heat being experienced in western Canada. An easterly flow has left some areas of the island struggling just to reach double digits.
It will remain cool through the weekend in the east but temperatures improve somewhat in central and western Newfoundland.
Meteorologist Mike Vandenberg of Environment Canada says two systems south of Newfoundland are causing the cool weather.
Labrador is currently enjoying the best weather in province with sunshine and temperatures in the 20’s for the next several days
Vandenberg says Labrador is too far away from the lows passing south of Newfoundland and instead is enjoying a ridge of high pressure and says anyone longing for sun should head north as they say.
