The Pedestrian Mall in downtown St. John’s boasts a variety of places to visit, but something you won’t be seeing on the street this year are food trucks.
Brad Gover of the Mobile Vendors Association of Newfoundland says it’s not from a lack of trying. He says the association spoke with the city at length about allowing food trucks to operate on the mall, but could not come to an agreement.
Gover says they tried to come up with a few alternatives to what he calls “outdated” city bylaws, but they couldn’t make anything happen for this year. He is hopeful a solution can be found for next year.
