A former downtown bar owner accused of sex offences against two children is expected to enter a plea when he returns to court in two weeks.
35-year-old Chris Carter appeared in provincial court yesterday via videoconference from the correctional centre in Bishop’s Falls.
His lawyer advised they only recently received the disclosure package, which makes up the Crown’s case, and will need more time to review it.
Carter’s next court date is July 27th, when he’s expected to enter pleas to the charges against him which include sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and sexual exploitation.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred between January of 2018 and May of this year.
Carter is also a musician and former co-owner of the Valhalla nightclub in St. John’s.
