Two people were arrested and charged, and more charges are possible after the search of a home in Summerford resulted in the seizure of drugs and weapons.
Twillingate and Lewisporte RCMP pulled a vehicle over in the community last Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation.
Fifty-five year old Olwen Anstey was taken into custody.
A few hours later, a quantity of drugs – including cocaine, oxycodone and pills – firearms, ammunition and suspected stolen property were seized from a home in Summerford.
A full list of items seized includes:
- a quantity of suspected cocaine,
- a quantity of suspected oxycodone,
- a quantity of various illicit pills,
- a quantity of cannabis,
- multiple firearms,
- ammunition,
- numerous cellular phones,
- suspected stolen property,
- a quantity of cash,
- other items consistent with possession for the purpose of drug trafficking
Sixty-one year old Howard Anstey was arrested during the search. Both accused are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
They were released on conditions to appear in court in June.
RCMP say the investigation continues and more charges are possible.
